Final Throughts on a Sunday Night

In great Daily Football Fix tradition, Jessica welcome in the new month of October. Fall is truly here. NASCAR chase & baseball playoffs are upon us. Football is in full swing as basketball and hockey start gearing up.

Smoke wins in the cornfields. Nice to see Tony get a W. I am looking forward to seeing him at Talladega next weekend.

Soft coverage, poor tackling and lack of pressure on Auburn's defense go against the defensive philosophy. Spurrier's best shot didn't help either. Auburn weathered the storm and heads into the heart of the SEC. I expect the Tigers to attack MM & Co. I would love to see McFadden held to 50 yards and have. 5 sacks would be great against the high school OC. The line has already jumped from 14.5 to 17 in favor of the Tigers. The Nutt always plays Tubs tough.

Tim Duckworth moves like he is 200 lbs. Kenny Irons needs to keep his legs churning. Courtney Taylor must improve his body control and keep his feet.

It was a tough weekend for USC against a Washington State team that the Tiger tattoed on opening night. The Cougs have improved since they faced the Tigers and took the Trojans to the wire. This preserved Auburn's standing on the AP and closed ground in the Coaches poll pulling in one first place vote in each poll to USC's nil.

John Parker Wilson looks like a first year starter as pressure forces sloppy footwork and consequently high throws. His 3 picks could have been 5 as he only produced two field goal drives on offense. The Gators had more athletes and playmakers and eventually pulled away. Chris Tebow & Co. have already moved from a pick to UF @ minus one when LSU visits this weekend. This may be a showdown of the two most athletic & talented teams in the SEC and should be good football.

Rocky Top wore out Tommy West in the Tennesee showdown this weekend. Next the Great Pumpkin invades Athens. This line has moved from a pick to the Vols by two. I could see a field goal deciding against Georgia. CMR has a suspect offensive line, ineffective recievers and question at QB. Richt thanks heaven for his defense every night.

I will be taking a mid season break from picks to break the horrid streak that was the past weekend against the spread. I am a king at straight up. The Dr. will be filling the void in my stead. Wilbur Picks shall rise again.

2 tickets for Arkansas available, please let me know if you know anyone who wants them.

Ladies & Gents, open Monday. Thoughts and takes on the weekend.

Below: The Dr. looking to the horizon for next weeks picks and better days for the Crimson Tahd.

UGA has no offense....that is all

Yes, we did keep it close, that comment made my morning.

No one has stepped up for UGA and their fan base is scared!.....Great D though.

Went to a redneck bar and saw the last half of the UGA game. Those 'necks were so funny......."c'mawn Daaaaaaaaaaaaawwwgs! Whip that aaaaaaaaccce dawgs!" You would have thought they beat Ohio state when that game was over. I wish I had video taped it with my phone. So funny.

Nobody in the SEC looked good Saturday (or Thursday), excpet Tennessee. I still think that UGA can beat them with their good defense...and if JT3 can come back in and take over the offense. The Dogs just need to let their RBs carry them. I think UGA beats UT...LSU beats Florida...Auburn beats Arky...and Duke shocks Bama.

Mark Richt WILL NOT commit to power running. Unless he changes his mind they will continue to run that pussy ass sprint draw and get no o-line push. He will not even attempt to wear down a D by punding the rock....which is what they should be doing since they cannot throw. But he is ACC to the bone and wants to be flashy and pass-happy.

If Ainge has time to throw then UT rolls on the Dawgs. How do you suggest the Dawgs score Shakes? They can't throw and they won't run. They have the 88th ranked offense in the nation and they have played NOBODY with a defense.

If Ainge is not shaken by the crowd and and the noise then I see 28-3.

UGA should be able to score with the amount of talent they have on their offense: Brown, Ware, Lumpkin, Southerland, Massoqui, Goodman. If Richt would run straight at the Vols, they will be successful. If the QB (whoever that may be) can toss the ball around, they should be successful. UGA`s D should be up for the challenge. And you know as well as I do that Ainge is not a great QB. If you put a good stellar D in front of Erik Ainge...he folds like a bitch!
It will be a good game...but considering where it is being played, I give the slight edge to UGA.

I understand and agree that they "should" score with the talent but they have yet to do that.

From today's AJC: "UGA has not had a TD drive longer that 58 yards(week 2 2nd quarter). In the past 2 weeks they have scored a total of 28 points against the nations 55th and 82nd worst defenses. In those games UGA has had 22 drives and scored FOUR times....an 18% success rate.

The Bulldogs are 89th in the country in total offense at 297 yards/game. That is after playing a schedule of D1-A opponents with a 6-14 record."

They suck on offense and I feel like it is safe to sy that UT has a better D than Colorado and Ole Siss.

So there is my reason to think that UT should roll on the dogs......UGA can't score regardless of "talent". richt is too proud to just line up and run all day. He is too pretty.

That is not to say that they won't beat UT. But there is a reson that UT is favored AT athens against a higher ranked team.

You can buy soft cloth bees with a rubber edge that are great for training. I got Bo one from Eddie Bauer years ago and he learned pretty quick......then he got to where he would run and catch it on the fly....pretty cool.

Then he got so fat and lazy he would jog beside it and watch it hit the ground before he grabbed it....lazy ass.

just got the itenerary for Miami......looking fuuuuuuun!!......for dinner the 2nd night WWE rented out Shooters which was voted the best waterside restaraunt in the nation.....this is gonna be fuuuuun!!...I might get drunk!!!

tigernation said...

Get drunk Kingdom.....but lets focus on what these types of trips should be about for single guys. GET LAID!!!!

Business conferences and meetings at random locations are an invitation to get nasty. The ladies will be tipsy, everybody has a hotel room, you will be eating good and drinking lots of good stuff.

So find 5 or 6 honeys, narrow the field down after dinner to 2 or 3. Then pounce like a big cat in the jungle.

See, you must take the mentality of a tiger or a lion. You have the herd, the leader (biggest and fastest) out front. The weaker(more drunk in this case) of the pack will drag behind. A big cat would attack from the rear but this is where humans are different. You need to attack from the front. Eye contact, free drinks, act like you are impressed with the stupid stories, don't talk about yourself, make funny jokes.

Oh yeah, you must be alert to notice when the alcohol sets in. There is a fine line between tipsy and hammered. Hammered is bad because they will either puke, pass out, or stumble around so much that not only have you lost that one...but all the other girls will feel the need to take care of the wounded so you lose all hope.........so just monitor the alcohol intake.

Happy hunting....this could be and should be huge.

You are absolutely right, Nation. Kinda like Discovery channel...I have already been told not to wind up in anyone's room this side of the Mississippi....I have a roomate but oh well...he will also be my roomie in Dallas later in October.....I am thinking of a certain someone from Pasadena but I will allow New Jersey or Pennsylvania to fly due to their distance from Atlanta.........had the best week ever in revenue produced last week so I am on cloud 9 and ready to go to conference

tigernation said...

A great example ofrom personal experience Dr!! I too know and feel your pain from time to time.

Nothing like thinking you have it in the bag only to find that you gave them too many drinks and they are wasted. There is nothing worse than watching a nights worth of expensive drinks come back to bite you in the ass....unless you can still get them to the room!!!!!!! then it's a moral issue.

......and I just got my debit and credit cards back after a baaaaaad Thursday out in ATL where I lost them and over $600 was taken out of my checking............I absolutely expect to have some fun and there will be plenty of girls there.....I am curious to see who is still left out of my training class....usually less than 50% retention......I would like to branch out into the company and make some more lady friends

King of Tigerland said...

I expect this to be absolutely crazy, yall remember what I said about my training class(we were all the same personalities) and putting 600 in a room together is scary

King of Tigerland said...

Well I slammed my thumb between a heavy ass reclining sofa and a door frame first thing this morning. Now it's bloody and throbbing and it won't stop. Could be broken but probably not. Hurts like shit and not a good way to start the day.

Just thought you guys might like to know about that.
