Weekend Wrapup

I hope all had a pleasant weekend and avoided the storms.

Kasey Kahne wins in Texas. The Roaring Wilberos have taken a slim lead over Team Bear and $hakes in Fantasy NASCAR.

Phil won the Masters...again. Who ever thought you could have said that. Congratulations to him on another green jacket. A southern tradition.

Braves lost more games and lost Chipper. Not much pitching when Hudson is giving up 6 and must be kept in the game to get to the bullpen.

Montgomery Advertiser article put several state sports journalists to task about the 2006 outlook of the Tide and Tigers. "Chance to be special" and "SEC West Favorites" were used to describe Auburn chances if the recievers and line replaced key losses. How will the Auburn D react to a new DC is exactly the same as how good will JPW be for the Tide? Probably good. More offensive production for the Tide but holes on D. But will the Tide really go 8-4 as the panel of Finebaum, Ingram, Jackson and co. see happening?

May I ask please that if Alabama is graduating a 2nd round draft choice at quarterback then what is the real offensive problem?

The blog is an open slate. Have at it.

There is a "Team Bear" in the Nascar fantasy?

That is sooooo funny. Are all the drivers drunk, wife beating, player paying, cheaters???? Just kidding, but that is kind of funny.

I noticed where Reitsma(sp) blew yet another save. And they said he was excited about the closing role this year and would be better prepared.....ok. Starting pitching will be fine. Remember, there are still like 468 games left in the season. Starters can take a while to get loose.

I don't think an 8-4 season would be a bad year for Bama at all. considering the losses on D. It's not losing the talent that hurts, because that is easy to replace. It's losing so much experience that may hurt......same is true with AU at linebacker and OT.

I think the reason those writers were down on Bama's offense is because they failed to score a TD against a number of different opponents last year....even with a supposed 2nd round QB. Who knows, the offense may be better this year than last....one can never tell.

Hello again Ladies. I had a great time at the beach. I ate way to much, and got burnt like a lobster. That is what I get though for not wearing sunscreen.

As far as the Tide Offensive woes go...I believe the problem first occurred when Bama`s big threat, Tyrone Prothro went down. Without his presence on the field, Bama`s offense almost folded completely being very predictable in play calling selections( as seen in the Iron Bowl 2005). I think the offense will improve this year because Prothro is not on the field, and JPW is getting a lot of practice throwing the ball around to other receivers. Without the #1 go-to guy on the field, it gives these other talented receivers and RB`s the chance to showcase their talents. While the offensive production will improve, Bama`s record will remain 7-5..8-4...or 9-3.

Dr.-- The Bama line was really not that bad until after Prothro went down against UF. After that game, everything fell apart.

ShakeYour$Maker said...

Yea...what game did Closner go down? Was it Miss St. or LSU? Yea...who are your send into the game when he goes down? One of the Britt Boys...how many of them are left, and when are some more coming?

Starting the job search process. Phone interviews tomorrow. Anybody have a brilliant idea where I can make 6 figures.

Case of the Mondays....all people want to do is play the blame game...."I am waiting on a callback, I called 3 times, When will they be at my apartment? Check to see if I paid my water bill" they can all go to hell and I am about to tell them so. Get over yourselves and find something productive to do with your life instead of dwelling on somebody touchpainting your apartment. Someone always has to take the blame and lord knows the resident is all perfect.

Bama's offensive coaching is terrible. Starting with Shula.

Many comments on the wave that is my computer background....has this already been shared?

ShakeYour$Maker said...

Dr.--I guess Bama`s offensive woes last season stem from all of those problems. It just seems like when Prothro went down...Croyle wasn`t the same, and was not nearly as effective without a go-to guy.

Kingdom,
I like the picture. Very nice touch.

Paintings are for PUUUUUSSSSSSIES!!!

Got a good girl-on-girl french kiss picture on my cell phone that I will send out. Took it at the bar saturday night while I was shaking a leg. don't know if you can tell if the tongue is there but I promise it is!!

Twobits and one of her friends just started kissing so I got it on camera!!

On Bama: Injuries to starters are never good. One or two serious injuries can mean the difference between a good season or an average one.

paintings are cultured nation, try it instead of the alcohol ads

ShakeYour$Maker said...

Nation- Two Bits was gettin after it with another snitch huh? That is awesome. Was the other girl hot? I don`t know how you do it grandpa, but I`m proud.

Kingdom- I`ll let you know what he says.

On Bama O: It is pretty amazing that Bama ended last season with a 10-2 record, and one of the worst offenses after the Prothro injury, and then later followed by Closner.

tigernation said...

Yes, the other girl was very hot, very hot indeed.

What do you mean you do't know how I do it..........I do it with money of course!!!

As for the paintings: Sarcasm is lost as usual on the kingdom......but seriously, the only REAL reason a man ever buys or views paintings is to impress a woman......don't see many men who aren't gay going to the museum together!!!!

Just kidding, that is a nice painting...although I think we should start having the "porn pic of the week".

King of Tigerland said...

Nation, pls consider your suggestion noted for the PS of the Week. any initial suggestion?

Sarcasm or redneck?? Couldn't tell which. haha

So is Cowgirls friend on the Loosier medicare payroll now to?

Never been to the museum with a guy. only Mom and a ladyfiend.

King of Tigerland said...

Who is Team Bear?

I had Tony, Kasey,Dale Jr, Yeley, and Petty

tigernation said...

No, Two Bits' friend has a boyfriend but she has the hots for my boy jake, who has a girlfriend.....you know me, always sparking a breakup.

I would say redneck, not sarcasm.

The Regular Guys have a caller who yell things like "books are for pussies!!". So I thought I would say the same about your painting.

NFLDraftScout.com listed the top 10 running backs in college football pre-season....Irons is #3.

I can post the article if anyone wants to read it.

Books and Paintings are for pussies. Not sarcasm or "redneck-ish"....just the truth.

Dr.- I think I started A List-J.Johnson, T. Stewart..went with Johnson....B List- K. Kahne,K. Busch....I also Jr. and Harvick but chose to go with the other 2.
C List- JJ Yelley and also had T. Labonte

Rumor going around that Logan Young has been found DEAD in Memphis.

Dr - anything on the news or going around the office about this?

I'm sure it's just an internet rumor as usual but if it's not.........remember who broke it on DFF.

tigernation said...

Yeah, I figured it was false info when I read that he had been murdered.

Frenchy Francouer made an ugly error out in RF costing a run last night also. It's OK to be aggressive at the plate but swinging from your heels at everything you see is a little much.

tigernation said...

We just knew that Reitsma was gonna blow it for sure. I think I kind of wanted him to so that we wouldn't have to see him all freaking year. But he looked really good and I liked it.

If he can stay confident then he will be fine. He has nasty stuff when he is on. But if he is off, that 94 mile/hour fastball is flat and very hitable.

tigernation said...

Kolb was the joke of MLB last year in my opinion.

You're right. If it had been a 1 runner then the game would have gone like this: Walk, single, error, doulbe in the gap....Braves down 2. Lose in the bottom of 9.

But they won so we can be happy for another day. Just need the starters to step it up.

Love the Renteria deal. Clutch player.

tigernation said...

Wow. Can't believe that is true.

If it was murder then there will be a HUGE investigation and trial.

Hate to see anyone get whacked.....regardless of the situation.

King of Tigerland said...

Whaaaaaat? OMG......wow.

King of Tigerland said...

This is going to be interesting how it unfolds. May I theorize for a moment?

Did the Ghost of Bear visit him for payback for hurting Bama?

Did Fulmer do it?

Burglary gone bad?

Did Bud "Tennstud" Adams send a Mempis player as a hitman?

Hate to see anything like this but this could have ripple effects.

King of Tigerland said...

Keep us posted, Dr.

tigernation said...

Not a burglary I assure you.

Lets be honest about who we are talking about.......

I won't speculate until the facts came out but you can imagine which way I would take my conspiracy theory......and it wouldn't involve a "Graduate" of UAT.

Not a good situation on any count.

King of Tigerland said...

A bad deal sometimes comes back around. I don't know if we will ever have the facts so please speculate, Nation.

tigernation said...

Well, from what I have read up to this point the rumors go as follows:

1) LY's son was in bad trouble with drugs/dealers and that could have something to do with the murder.

2) LY's son just moved back into the house and is now under arrest for the murder. (UT message board, Roy something)

3) LY was beaten and cut so bad that police had to use finger prints and dental records to identify the body.....I think this part is actually true.

4) He was killed by the "Bama Mafia" so to speak, in order to keep him quiet. The reason being that he was not happy about being the sacrificial lamb and was currently about to go into prison b/c the appeals process was over. With the impending prison term it was believed he would spill the beans in order to not have to go, or because he was upset that he had to go.

All talk so far. Just some of the rumors flying around.

Guess we'll have to wait for the police investigation.

Also read where the "son into drugs killer" would be a nice coverup to a "hush whack".

King of Tigerland said...

wow...that membership was worth it this month

I did not realize he was that roughed up. My first thought was heart attack. Don't think he would have put up much of a struggle.

tigernation said...

Just put his name in google and you can see where the police talk about him being brutally beaten.

Reports now are that it was his son and he is in custody.........doesn't mean he did it though.

King of Tigerland said...

yeah, been reading the memphis news sites.

Roy Adams has spoken. Saw it cut and pasted on fibebaum. Roll Tide Flowtown broke it on Fibebaum.

Could get juicy. Maybe protecting Bear Jr.?
