Mustain commits to Hogs

The nations top rated signal caller will play his college ball in Fayetteville for Houston Nutt. It is down to the TIGERS and the Tide for Peanut and Ricks. A combo commit of Peanut/Hawthorne will send either Shula or Tubs into spring practice with a smile. Let us know what you think about how recruiting is shaping up and anything else that needs to be said.

Nation, I agree about not wanting to get excited about the inexecat science of recruiting but I sure would love to see the combo arrive on the Plains. Whitehead looks like he is almost 30 anyways and maybe could turn into Mario Williams of NCSt who is a projected top draft pick. Next year he could play DT againts Bama like Gunn did this year? Who knows?

Looking forward to this weekend. Has the hotel been picked. It has to be nice for Auburntini and Cowgirlup.

It is working today for some reason at work(they won't make the same mistake tomorrow.). I would love to chat when I am not leasing Atlanta the high rise lifestyle.

It should be illegal to hire a recruit's high school coach at the same time you are recruiting the player. It is an obvious and blatant attempt to secure the supposed #1 QB in the nation.

I know you boys like Nutt but I have always said that he was shady and this further explains my point. What if Shula had hired Tebow's coach in order to land the QB? What if Tubbs had hired the LaGrange head coach to land Blackmon? I don't think rival fans would have been too happy about either of those situations.

Although the rumor is that the only reason Ensminger is on Auburn's staff is because his son is a good QB.

I just think that there is a loop hole being used here and it honeslty could get out of hand if more teams employ this tactic to land players.

Shakes, would you have been pissed if Tebow committed to Bama because Shula hired his coach?

I don`t know where i stand on this situation with Nutt and Mustain. If SHula hired Tebow`s coach to land him, it would`ve pissed me off for sure.

I think Nutt`s situation in Arkansas is a little different from what it is in our state though. Players seem to want to come to this state to play ball at either school, Auburn or Bama. Arkansas has a hell of a time even getting homegrown talent to stay in state and play for the Hawgs. With Broyles still having a hand in things it makes it hard for Nutt to have full control over his team and football operations. Nutt knows he has to do something BIG very soon. This may be his only chance to get there, and it looks like he is willing to do whatever it takes to get this Mustain kid to come play for the pigs. I don`t like it, but when you are coming off a 4-7 season...you have to do whatever it takes to get your team back on track. If this kid is as good as he is projected...the pigs could be a power in the very near future.

What are AUburn`s chances for P-nut and Hawthorne?

tigernation said...

They are announcing together on signing day (feb. 1) at a press conference. So that sounds like they are going to the same place. The only 2 places that they are both looking at are Auburn and Bama, so I guess we have a 50/50 chance of getting them.

NEW ORLEANS -- Mayor Ray Nagin told a crowd gathered at City Hall on Monday for a march honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. that New Orleans will be "chocolate" again.

New Orleans proper was more than 60 percent black before Hurricane Katrina displaced about three-quarters of its population, but sparing predominantly white neighborhoods.

Along Martin Luther King Blvd., a grassy median near a King statue and memorial was cleaned up and landscaped in advance of today's. Many of the buildings nearby, including a major housing project nearby, are abandoned and in ruins, still bearing the water stains left behind by flooding.

But Nagin promises that all of the city's residents will be encouraged to return and rebuild the neighborhoods they loved.

Nagin said New Orleans will be a majority African American city.

Got that in an email from a friend. And this is the guy that said it was the Presidents job to get people out of N.O. the day of the flood. How about do your freaking job as MAYOR and move the people.

States rights and the responsibility of local and State Governments and restraint of Federal Govt. are some of the reasons that the South fought the Civil War. Damn, I wish we would have won so people like this wouldn't rely on the Fed. to support their lifestyle and provide for their every need.

No job + no car + sorry, lazy unemployed person + inept local govt. = thousands stranded by flood.

tigernation said...

Sorry about the previous post. The whole "chocolate again" comment really struck a nerve. I can't believe he said that.

ShakeYour$Maker said...

Let us not forget the fact that there was a MANDATORY EVACUATION in the days prior to the hurricane.

I guess the white people left when they were told to.

Anyone with legs could have left New Orleans. It is horrible to see pictures of the remains and terrified people of NO after the storm, BUT why would you stay if you knew that storm was coming? Even if I had no car, 15 kids, and no money...I would`ve walked my happy ass and kids away from harm.

They can have NO if they want it to stay` "Chocolate." It`s dirty, smelly, and completely sick....they can have that mud hole and ruin it like they have everything else they touch. (Example: downtown B`ham, ATL, Any VERY NICE mall in any town)

tigernation said...

LOL! Now that is some funny stuff. "Any VERY NICE mall in any town." Ain't that the truth.

New Blog Topic:

Name things that the minority in question has ruined for the rest of us......or any minority for that matter.

I'll start: Nice cars...who wants to buy a Cadillac now as for fear of being labeled a thug, drug dealer, or old person.

Please bear in mind that very few of these evacuees are actualy "legal property owners". It turns out that many are living on govt affordable housing programs. Ex. an article in Newsweek spoke of how a certain family was for the rebuilding but that they did not even pay the $250 rent in a 3 br house. In my humble opinion, they are not the legal right holders so there fore they are just concerned citizens and not someone the govt run development corporation has to worry about.

King of Tigerland said...

And yes, we had problems with the evacuees bc they are taking extreme advantage of good will by a)not showing up to take possession of an apt bc no move in fees means no committment. b)assistance programs where a frauder goes to several programs to pay for move in fees and rent several times over.

I agree that FEMA might not be the best run organization but the element they are deaing with only makes the situation worse. Every one looks like Lil Wayne and Atlanta is ready for them to go back home.

King of Tigerland said...

Nasty, wet, cold day in Atlanta.

King of Tigerland said...

I concur, who really is in control here? Nagin seems to twist with the wind a little to much. He is to concerned with keeping his job and his legacy after the 'cane.

Someone needs to tell him you can't please all the people all the time.

King of Tigerland said...

Are you trying to tell us the Marty and the stache will be making an appearance?

Pretty interesting poll....I don`t know if I agree with Notre Dame and WVU in the Top 5, but they could prove me wrong. I am pleased to see Auburn in the Top 10. I think that is the perfect place for Auburn to begin next season.

ShakeYour$Maker said...

Let us now turn our attention to the Tide`s terrible road game, and weak non-conference schedule. We will go through game by game to predict the Tide`s 2006 record.

Sept. 2 Hawaii Tuscaloosa W
Sept. 9 Vanderbilt Tuscaloosa W
Sept. 16 LA-Monroe Tuscaloosa W
Sept. 23 Arkansas Fayetteville *
Sept. 30 Florida Gainesville *
Oct. 7 Duke Tuscaloosa W
Oct. 14 Ole Miss Tuscaloosa W
Oct. 21 Tennessee Knoxville *
Oct. 28 FL Intntnal Tuscaloosa W
Nov. 4 Miss St. Tuscaloosa W
Nov. 11 LSU Baton Rouge *
Nov. 18 Auburn Tuscaloosa *

I really hate to predict 7-5 because I don`t think the Tide will lose that many games. I think Bama wins 1 out of the 4 road games.

8-4, thanks to a very pathetic non-conference schedule.

ShakeYour$Maker said...

Now we will look at Auburn`s 2006 not great, but decent schedule.

Sept. 2 Washington St. Auburn W
Sept. 9 Miss State StarkvilleW
Sept. 16 *Temple Auburn W
Sept. 23 *Tulane (HC) Auburn W
Sept. 30 South Carolina Columbia *
Oct. 7 Arkansas Auburn W
Oct. 14 Florida Auburn *
Oct. 21 *LSU Auburn *
Oct. 28 Ole Miss Oxford W
Nov. 4 Arkansas St. Auburn W
Nov. 11 Georgia Auburn *
Nov. 18 at Alabama Tuscaloosa *

I don`t think Auburn will end up 7-5 or 8-4...I think the schedule is to the Tigers advantage having the hardest tests at Jordan-Hare and Tuberville-Bryant-Denny Stadium. I think AU wins at least 2 of 3 at home and wins out on the road.
10-1 or 9-2 for the 2006 Auburn Tigers.

ShakeYour$Maker said...

Let`s see...what makes me think Auburn has a tougher non-conference schedule than Bama next season?......Looks like we play Tulane (not great, but decent..and these fuckers must have some heart because they didn`t play 1 single home game last year.)

Washington St.- weren`t that great last season but have been good in the past. Not a patsy like Florida International.

Ark. St.- Didn`t these guys play in a bowl game last season. Yes they did.

Temple- Yes they are a joke.

Now, Bama`s only decent non-conference is Hawaii. The others are a complete joke.
La-Monroe, Duke (I don`t think they have won a football game since Spurrier left), Florida International (Stayed on ESPN.com`s Bottom 10 for the entire 2005 season.)

Don`t sit there and tell me you think Bama`s non-conference is stronger than Auburn`s. It is not even close. Hey, I understand that Bama HAS to get their wins where they can to jack that bowl appearances number up. Also, Shula has to get those six wins to get that bonus.

Bama is bringing it weak

ShakeYour$Maker said...

Where the hell did you come up with 9-2?

Bama has 0 chance of going 9-fucking 2. I guess you meant 9-3 or 8-4.

What road games do you think they will win?

UT-?
UF-?
LSU-?
Ark-?

Can they beat Auburn at home?

tigernation said...

If Bama goes 10-2 I will cut off both of my hands and feed them to my dog. Write it down.

ShakeYour$Maker said...

Bitch...you are crazy. It is not even close, even with your historical record watch, Auburn`s non-conference schedule is much tougher than Bama`s.

Duke- is the laughing stock of the ACC, even more pathetic than the SEC`s worst team Vandy, Miss St. These fuckers get beat by EVERYONE!
Temple and Duke would be one hell-uva game. Equal.

La-Monroe and FL International- SunBelt Conference teams in which no team in the Sun Belt won more than 6 games. Only team to reach the 6 game feat and go to a bowl is an Auburn opponent...Ark. St. Advantage Auburn.

Hawaii- Middle of the Pack in the WAC`s shitty ass conference. Lost to La Tech 45-14 last season. Uhhhh that hurts. Meanwhile Washington St. lost 7 games last season...5 of those games(4 of those teams were ranked) were decided by 4 or less points.
I would give the advantage to Auburn here as well.

Tulane has an excuse for the poor season of 2005. I think they will be decent in C-USA in 2006 as they return back to NO for their first home game in over a year. It`s too bad they didn`t play any Duke or Florida International last season.

Also, Temple could be getting dropped from the schedule for another MAC team. This would indeed garuntee that Auburn`s non-conference schedule is stronger. Maybe Auburn could get N. Illinois...one of Bama`s old rivals.

tigernation said...

Both teams have extremely weak out of conference opponents. But Bama has never and will never beat Auburn in Tuscaloser.

Love stirring that pot!

ShakeYour$Maker said...

No way in hell Bama goes 10-2 with no offense, and having to replace Freddie Roach, Anthony Madison, Demeco Ryans, Roman Harper, Mark Anderson, and Rudy Griffin off that stellar 2005 Defense. I think Bama will be decent, but it`s hard to replace those great players on defense.

I say Bama goes 8-4. Defense wins 3 of those 8 for the Tide.

ShakeYour$Maker said...

Lunch time kids. I made you all Peanut butter and jelly sandwichs and cut you up some cantalope. So why don`t you eat your lunch then why don`t you go play with your cock-n-balls.

tigernation said...

I like playing YOUR cock-n-balls Shakey!

ShakeYour$Maker said...

Nobody said Auburn`s schedule was the toughest in the nation....but it is tougher than Bama`s without a doubt.

Delusional my ass. Anyone that thinks Bama will win 10 games next season is delusional. Losing all those players will take its toll on the defense. (Simeon better get his ass to the classroom if he is gonna play next season.) We will see. Oh, and that offense...if I was a bammer, I would be upset that more are not leaving from this debacle of an offense. Brodie and Closner were the best things Bama had on that side of the ball...and with what is coming back... (other than Darby,Castile,Prothro,Hall, Johns)..I`d say Bama is bringing it weak. O-Line sucks horribly and won`t be any good next season, unless Andre Smith comes in to save the day. QB hasn`t played much at all...he`s mobile, but doesn`t seem to have an arm like Brodie. Not a very exciting team for Bama other than Tyrone Prothro. I would expect these losers to round out the middle of the pack in the SEC.Things don`t look so bright in T`town anymore. Bama`s Back my ass.

Isaac....Get Well Soon!

ShakeYour$Maker said...

Other than the letdown in the bowl game...tell me what is not "reasonable" with Auburn being preseason #7?

Auburn did go 9-3 this past season with some very BIG wins. We have a lot of talent coming back next season at skilled positions. Only big losses are Marcus McNeil, A. and T. Williams, TJ Jackson, McClover, and 3 great WRs. We still have depth and talent to come in and play immediately. It wouldn`t suprise me at all if Auburn goes undefeated this next season.

Pull through Isaac...Get Well Soon!

Bama sounds like they landed a pretty damn good QB. Wonder when he will get to suit up and play....by his Jr. or Sr. year?

ShakeYour$Maker said...

You better get the knife ready Dr.

King of Tigerland said...

Wow. Where did all that come from?

Do you really think the worst offense in the league will be better even after losing the QB?

You will be amazed at how much Bama will lose and still have a shot at 10 wins. I don't see it but they have a chance in every game they play. UF and LSU are the road losses and then we'll see what happens at the Iron Bowl but we can't say Bama will win that bc they have NEVER beat AUBURN in tuscaloser.
