PRIMETIME

Auburn University has been annointed by the ESPN Family of Networks as the season opening prime time game against Kansas State, 7:45e September 1st. Georgia, came in second to take the 6:45e time slot on the duece. The next week is a SEC double header with the traditional second game of the season with South Carolins visiting Georgia in Athens then South Florida at Auburn on the duece. The kicker, Virginia Tech visits LSU in Death Valley on ESPN at 9:15e. Football is so close you can almost taste the 101 on the rocks, deviled eggs and pigs in a blanket.

My boy "Ocho Cinco"

Bengals WR Chad Johnson will race against a horse on June 9 at River Downs, according to the CINCINNATI INQUIRER.

To benefit the charity "Feed the Children," Johnson will try to match strides with a 4-year-old colt named Restore the Roar over RD's turf course.

The event, billed as "Man vs. Beast," will be the feature race and will be simulcast to more than 400 outlets across the country and in South America.

The horse will break from the inside from a starting gate at the eighth pole, and Johnson will break from the outside rail going 11/16 of a mile to the wire. The distances are calculated to create a photo finish.

King of Tigerland said...

how far does the horse go? the same?

tigernation said...

horse goes from the starting gate, johnson gets a head start, try to measure it so they finish at roughly the same time

That's awesome. The NFL needs more people like ocho. I am tired of them fining him for the names and endzone dances. Turn Sundays into a circus

Anyone seen anything on Memphis announcing Iavaroni as head coach today

tigernation said...

lavaroni? I think that was one of the toppings on my slice from Little Italy last night. And it was so good

King of Tigerland said...

nation, what games are you going to next year...I am willing to joing in on the hotel if possible as well

Carl Montgomery said...

Iavaroni in as Grizzlies head coach. Just listened to press conference. I think this is a good step for the franchise after a disappointing lottery

Now we just need a
GM

Daddy said...

Everyone seen Sopranos yet?

tigernation said...

yeah. so whats the theory? Tony lives? Tony talks to the feds and flees to witness protection? Tony dies alone? So many options

King of Tigerland said...

Has the finale aired yet?

I am about half way through.

Daddy said...

no, king, next Sunday though so you better get with it.

Tough to decide. I think they will try to end it in a way that no one is thinking about. I might like it if Tony goes out like pacino in scarface, a bloodbath where everyone dies. Could be a huge battle at the end, especially with Tony contacting Italy.

So many questions left as well. I wonder if the finale will be an extended episode. What happens with gAy.J. and Meadow? Dr. Melphi? The Arabs? Too many questions for one hour.

Daddy said...

not to mention Uncle Jr., where has he been for the last half of the season? They mentioned him in the last episode, but he hasnt appeared in at least 3 of 4 episodes.

ShakeYour$Maker said...

The Sopranos will end with a bloodbath. I`m sure everyone saw the gun Tony was holding at the end of the last episode. Well, I think he will finally use it on the whole New York Family and be the only one left alive.

AJ will kill himself, JR. dies in his assisted living holding cell, Meadow and Carmella go away while Tony`s kicking ass, and Stupid ass
Phil LeoTARDASS gets blown away.

tigernation said...

Phil has to go. i can't stand that ass hole.

daddy - the finale will be only one hour, sucks i know.

Anybody gonna be in auburn this weekend? I'm off saturday adn i need to get out of town.

Daddy said...

I forgot about that big nasty gun. It will kill many people. Im sure they are gonna coffin a lot of the main characters in true mob movie fashion.

Daddy said...

I will be here.

Daddy said...

Holy shit! It is raining in Au!

Daddy said...

Mustain email lawsuit was dismissed by the judge.

tigernation said...

bloodbath would be great.

well if shakes is gonna be in town then i might have to come down and hang with you boys

Carl Montgomery said...

I told shakes the other day. I want it to end in scarface fashion. They should use the exact lines as well. Have that fatass sister of his with the rollong stones tit tatt come in with a skimpy robe and with a Cuban accent say "tony, do you want you seester"

I just had the best fast food burger of all time at the sonic in Marion ark. Perfectly toasted bun great tomato cheese completely melted. Excellence for fast food quality

Carl Montgomery said...

Tony do you want to fuck your seester

Sorry for the misquote. Must have gotten distracted

tigernation said...

"Armed and dangerous, ain't too many can bang wit us. Straight up weed no angel dust, label us notorious........"

Anyone?

Daddy said...

"....squeeze that clip hit the right one....pass that weed i got to light one..."

My brother used to play the shit outa that.

Carl Montgomery said...

We just sittin here tryin to win, tryin not to sin high off weed and gin

Spit your game

Carl Montgomery said...

Shakes was big on the B.I.G. I believe it was going back to cali that he blared in the jeep

Daddy said...

Sonic burgers were my favorite as a kid. The sonics that i have been to in auburn lately have not been that great. No. 1 or No. 2 style?

Carl Montgomery said...

Since I have been eating very shitty lately I went for the #2 I think. The Mayo one.

I am a firm believer that grease cures hangovers

tigernation said...

Double Sonic Burger with mayo, ketchup and pickles only please!!

"So much smoke need oxygen, steadily countin them benjamins, nigga you should too, if you knew, what this game will do to you, been in this shit since '92, so called beef wit you now who. fucked a few female stars or two...."

tigernation said...

grease and weed!!!!!

tigernation said...

I messed that lyric up. Its really "been in this shit since 92, look at all the bullshit i been through" then the rest

Carl Montgomery said...

Sad thing is I am almost finished reading Fast Food Nation

My intention was to read it and hopefully it would scare me away from eating at the drive thrus. Scary thing however is it has had zero effect

Daddy said...

supersonic cheeseburger no. 2 style, no tomatoes or onion. cheese fries and a cherry vanilla dr. pepper is what I used to get.

Daddy said...

no. 1 style i mean. the one with must

Carl Montgomery said...

You have to watch sonic on the onions. They have a tendency to overload

I am a tots guy and coke or root beer float depending on the day

tigernation said...

Tots and fries there are so salty but i stick to tots. Drink is usually just the old diet coke......but......

daddy - remember when i would hit that sonic up by my house on Mckinley for a oreo blast every night at about 1030? Talk about putting on the pounds.

Oh, and i tipped the scales at a cool 176.5 at the doctor this morning, clothes, shoes, wallet and all. I really thought i was up to about 185 though so i'm happy

Daddy said...

yes, i do remember. those oreo blasts are the shit.

I weigh 40-50 more than you. Been trying to get on a diet and exercise plan for a while, but have no motivation at all. guess i will just have to be a fatty for a while.

Carl Montgomery said...

Summer of the big boys part 2

I bet an oreo blast a day would beef up the poundage

King of Tigerland said...

Nation, I will be in Auburn friday night to see my sister for an early din din.

Sonicblasts are amazing but with Reeses!

Isn't the #2 the double?

Daddy said...

reece's can suck it! so much better with oreo.

the numbers correspond to the condiments, no. 1 - must, no. 2 - mayo. the double is the supersonic

Daddy said...

do you realize that the summer of the big boys was 7 years ago! time flies

tigernation said...

i think #2 is the double, and yes, oreo blasts up the calorie intake by about 1000% per portion. I really think i put on about 25 pounds with those alone.

daddy - i have been eating pretty bad and my shape isn't what it was last summer but i weigh the same. Kind of weird but i do still lift about 3 days a week and i'm always making deliveries here at work so maybe thats why i haven't put too much back on. Who knows though.

Once you get in a routine for a couple of weeks you will enjoy the working out i promise....and you'll feel better too

Carl Montgomery said...

#1 and #2's designate mustard and Mayo

The double is supersonic instead of plain ol sonic

Carl Montgomery said...

Got stalled in the posting. Sorry for the redundancy

7 years almost hurts to hear

Life was so easy back then

tigernation said...

got it....then my fave is the SUPERsonic chee with mayo, ketch, and picks......yummmmmmmy and soooo greasy. its like goodness for my taste buds.

Carl Montgomery said...

I had the super today with cheese

I don't discriminate. Had Mayo plus all the trimmings and it was indeed goodness to the buds

tigernation said...

ha ha...buds

daddy - chuck is trying to set up a gig for saturday down in AU. I tried to get shakes on the phone but he's busy so if you hear from him let him know.

King - i'll holla if i make it down there

Daddy said...

yeah, i keep telling myself that. and I will even make it a few days eating right and running with gypsy. then something happens to throw me off the wagon.

Daddy said...

i will do it, we are rollin today, so i will tell him then

tigernation said...

yeah i know what you mean. i don't always follow the plan perfectly. But if you can make a habit of doing just a little something like three days a week for like an hour after work you will see a difference.

Game day Changes

By Clint Hamilton

TUSCALOOSA - Be prepared for some changes Crimson Tide fans, and not just with the coach walking the sidelines. This week, the Alabama Athletic Department will begin mailing season ticket holders and running ads in newspapers across the state, the new game day policy which covers everything from tailgating rules to the attire you can and can't wear inside the stadium.

Gone are the days of fans sitting outside the stadium getting inebriated and coming into the stadium causing trouble. According to University officials, State Troopers will be stationed at random gate entrances and if they, or the gate workers, suspect you of drinking, you will be asked to take a breathalyzer test. If you blow more than a 0.08%, you will be asked to leave the stadium, and if you are a season ticket holder, your tickets will be revoked and you will not be able to renew them. "We sat down and looked at most of the problems we have inside the stadium on game days, and 80% of them are alcohol related. We understand that some people are going to drink a little, but we are not going to tolerate drunkenness inside our stadium any longer" said one University official.

Eddie Kines, a Piedmont resident and family member of Joe Kines, has been coming to Alabama football games for 40 years. Over the last 15 years, he has been a strong advocate for these changes. "I remember when Coach Bryant was here; our fans didn’t act this way. We came to the games, sure, we might drink one or two cold ones before hand, but we didn’t get drunk, and we certainly didn’t cause problems in the stadium. We just liked to come in, watch some good football and contribute to the atmosphere. That is Alabama football. Our football team played with class and our fans cheered with class. Once he left, it was like he took our class with him - we stopped acting like champions, and I think that has hurt the football team, too. I took my grandson to the LSU game a couple of years ago and I was truly embarrassed. It was like I had taken him to a race at Talladega rather than a Crimson Tide football game".

Among the many changes, the one that may cause the most problems is Alabama's new policy pertaining to what you cannot wear into the stadium.

"It's not a 'dress code', per se. We will just not allow a few certain articles of clothing into the stadium. We have had numerous complaints about obscenity in the stadium, and most of the time, it's directly related to what some fans are wearing" said one University official. Some articles of clothing that will no longer be allowed into the stadium:

-Tank tops or shirts with the sleeves cut out

-Halter tops and cut-off t-shirts

-Cut-off blue jean shorts

-Jersey's worn into the stadium must have been made by Nike

-Attire with vulgarity or obscene photographs

-Shoes must be worn at all times

"We are not asking for much. We just want Crimson Tide football games to be family oriented, and at this time, we don’t think that is the case" said one University official.

While these changes may come as a shock to some Crimson Tide fans, Kines says they are a long time coming.

"This has been a long battle, but if I can finally take my grandson to a game and he can see what Alabama football is really about, it was all worth it."

Those changes, if followed through, will leave the stadium half empty. Most bama fans dont own any other clothing other than cut-off jean shorts and shirts, and halter tops.

Seriously though, only Nike jerseys? Dumb as hell.

Auburn tried something similar to that, I believe it was the 2004 season. It never was really strictly enforced, that i saw.

tigernation said...

That whole article is a joke i think. Its pretty funny though. There is no way any team could enforce things like that.

I'll be in AU friday night. Daddy or Shakes - i need a sackajaweeya

King of Tigerland said...

I will split one with you nation if it is goooooooooooooood

tigernation said...

have to find one first

Daddy said...

wont be a problem. how much?

tigernation said...

well if i'm splitting it then i guess a .25

king?

King of Tigerland said...

more than ok with me

Daddy said...

anyone planning on watching the nba finals?

tigernation said...

I'm sure i'll flip by and check it out. But i won't watch a whole game. Good to see Lebron there though.

Watch the braves game tonite. Jacob, Rob and i will be there early tailgating in the parking lot. Its Jeff Francoeur T-shirt night so we are gonna get size small shirts and maybe wear them inside. We'll be about 20 rows behind the 3rd base dugout so look for us. we'll be hammered

Daddy said...

sounds fun. i think i might watch it all. i am a huge lebron fan these days.

tigernation said...

Lebron is the man. Only 22 and in the finals.

Shakes - just put the finishing touches on "Kodachrome" and "the Boxer". Get ready.

Daddy - can you go ahead and set us up with the squeef?

Daddy said...

yep.

kodachrome is one of my all time favorites. need to do "Me and Julio down by the Schoolyard" also

tigernation said...

I'll check that one out. Paul Simon's guitar stuff is simple but complicated. If that makes sense.

Like the Boxer is only aobut six chords but he finger picks it and its HARD to get it right. I really can't quite get it so i made up my own style and it works.

Kodachrome is a great song and very easy to play. Its just short, only two verses then the "mama don't take my kodachrome..." over and over. Still cool though.

Daddy - whats going on tomorrow evening. I should be there about 730 or so.

Daddy said...

not a clue, yet. We can do about anything though. not sure whats going on downtown, kinda slow in the summer, but we will figure something out.

tigernation said...

yeah i'm up for whatever. My sister and one of her friends are in town and they will be with my brother. I don't really know what to tell them to do since they can't get in any bars.

I'm ready to get there though. Maybe we can find some good bands.

Saturday we might have to go get some sun somewhere or something. If its nice outside. I don't know

Daddy said...

alex city jazzfest is this weekend. got John Cleary and the Monster Gentlemen and Edwin McCain. thats a lot of driving though.

tigernation said...

yeah i'm thinking more along the lines of the ale house or bourbon or bodega. but then again, it is always slow in the summer so i don't care what we do.

i think i might punch you in the neck when i get there, just to go ahead and pay you back for the old jokes that will surely be at my expense later in the weekend.

Daddy said...

you might want to punch me twice, because there will be many.

ale house might be the only place with a band. it is fun there, but sometimes there is a weird crowd these days.

tigernation said...

we'll figure something out i'm sure.

As for the old jokes, i might go with karate chops and rabbit punches for every joke that doesn't make me laugh. if its funny you will get no penalty

Daddy said...

i better write some down then.

Carl Montgomery said...

Eddie McCain is not worth the drink driving

He played Memphis in may and we caught his last two songs waiting on someone. It was one of the cheesiest things I have ever seen in person

Daddy said...

Yeah he is a little corny. He used to be pretty good live. saw him at city stages back in the day and it wasnt bad. it was like 7 or 8 years ago though.

nation and king,
snecal matter is a go.

Carl Montgomery said...

I think I was with you at that Edwin show

That was last time I saw him. It was also year last time he ever had a hit

Daddy said...

I was about to say, i think that was the summer of the big boys. The same summer that Blue Routes played there i think.

tigernation said...

gonna be a long day. i'm so ready to get to AU.

So did anybody see me and my boys on TV last night during the braves game?!?!?!

Matt Diaz broke his bat and i came flying up in the stands and hit Jacob in the hip. Then we all grabbed it and wrestled it away from this fat lady. We were all on TV for about 15 seconds. So funny.

Daddy said...

completely forgot to watch. wish i could have seen that.

tigernation said...

Oh man we were on fire all night. Alfonso Soriano hits leadoff for the cubs and we were on his ass all night. We were yelling at him before his first at bat and he turned around and tipped his hat to us....then he hit a triple off the right field wall.

So for the rest of the night when he would come out on deck he would look up at us and we would start screaming "turn around" and all this other stuff and he would just tip his hat and wave and get another hit. It was great.

tigernation said...

daddy - i hear the goodies are nice....looking forward to it.

Y'all up for dinner and drinks when i get to town?

Daddy said...

yeah they are pretty good.

I am up for anything.

tigernation said...

are you up for a knuckle sandwich? I will give you such a smack!

i really wish i could leave now, i feel like its 530 but is not even 1 yet. ugh!

i still can't get over jacob getting hit by that bat. sooooo funny. my brother has it on tivo so we might have to stop by and watch it later

Daddy said...

You will probably break your hand again!

I am leaving work now, see ya tonight.

King of Tigerland said...

are ytou staying all weekend, nation?

tigernation said...

yes why? are you?

King of Tigerland said...

maybe.......probably........I have to work on Sunday afternoon

King of Tigerland said...

but I need a weekend to forget about life right now

tigernation said...

well i don't know how wild i'll be able to get because my sister and one of her friends are gonna be in town so i'll have to find them something to do.

King of Tigerland said...

no worries but I will have a few good stories about our boy bumper
