Midweek Update

I hope all is well with everyone. Newports are downright nasty. Why would you want to smoke fiberglass when you can smoke the good green cigs? It was nice to be home in Alabama this past weekend. Yes, my home is in Alabama.

The Braves are starting to show a little bit of life. Keep winning series and they might have a chance in August. The Phillies might be the team to beat in the East instead of the Mets. Almost a given the Wild Card will come from the East right now. Yes, my fantasy team has gone down the toilet already. At least there is fantasy NASCAR.......

..........Greg Biffle won Saturday night in Darlington. That was good to see and a long time coming. Smoke, Biffle & Junior are my favorite drivers......anyone else?

"The aim of life is self development. To realize one's nature perfectly-that is what each of us is here for." - Oscar Wilde......Oscar's favorite drink-----Absinthe in an old ad. I have done some good reading on while on vacation.

Alabama baseball one of the tops in SEC and Auburn is one of the worst. Best facilities in the nation and a new Healthsouth next door can't get some talent? First losing season in a while hurts. Baseball and Mens B-Ball at the 'burn need to pick it up. Sad state of affairs. There is always swimming if the girls would swim in string bikinis..

Gotta love Elisa. She would swim and dive in a string. She said she would do it naked for DFF.

Anywhere from #3 to #8 is what we are starting to hear about the preseason ranking of the Auburn Tigers. I am hoping closer to #8 than #3. I am scared Cox might not make it through the season. He did last year but he is one shot away from not broken bones; but crushed bones.

I'm going to go ahead and say JPW will be better than expected and might be in the top third of the SEC QB's by the end of next year. He just needs time to throw. Tebow might get a shot in many first halfs this fall. How much difference will Nikita Stover make for JPW in T-town? Tons. He might be the shot in the arm Bama's O needs.

SEC West starters are looking like Jamarcusrussellbum, Henig at State, Shafing from grades at Ole Missy, who knows for Nutt, Cox for Tubs, and Johnny Walker Wilson for the Tide.

How much will Tim Hawthorne contribute as a freshman? I think LB Craig Stevens might be one of the better signings in Auburn's class when it is said and done. Imagine a backfield of Lester, Fannin and Tate year after next.

Good day, ladies and gentlemen.

Nice front page kingdom. I agree with about everything you got there.

I also can't believe I forgot about Craig Stevens. His highlight tapes from his senior year are awesome. He is by far one of the best pick-ups of the class. I hope we start a little pipeline to Lincoln HS in Fla. They have tons of talent down there.

Everybody needs to visit Athlonsports.com. They are counting down the top 25 preseason, AU just came in at #9.

Looking for some orange and blue shoes for the upcoming season.

Found some Pumas on ebay that are perfect but they are a ladies size 8. They don't look like ladies shoes, but how big is a ladies 8 in mens? If it's a 10 then I might just buy them.

Dr.Feelgood said...

I have some yellow and blue pumas if you would like to purchase. They are Mns 12's, but they are narrow enough that they could probably sccomodate shakes foot. Just paint the thing orange.

Just bought a Sporting news SEC preview, absolutely ridiculous price of $7 plus tax. If I did not need the CFB fix so bad I would have to pass. Sporting News, how do they still have a mag?? Idiots. When I read it I will post the good stuff.

Also heard some stuff on Bonds on the ESPN radio couple of minutes ago. You all may have heard this, but I didn't realize that he refuses to take team pic, he won't travel with the team, he refuses to eat at team meals, and basically does nothing but show up to play or practice. What a self centered piece of shit, I hope he blows his knee out, and loses his leg for life. I am glad that pitcher hit him last night, should have gotten him in that bigass head.

tigernation said...

I think every pitcher for every team should throw at him once a game if not more.

I know my high scholl coach would have us throwing at his "fucking head" every at bat.

Sorry ass, self-centered, cheating, womanizing, drug abusing, racist, spoiled, going to die of cancer, piece of shit from my hairy white beautiful ass!!!!

Dr.Feelgood said...

Now I am really pissed, son of a bitch, I forgot you already read this NAtion, now I am pissed about the $7, two beers would have been much nicer tonight at BBQ fest.

Fuck Barry Bonds, Fuck The Sporting News, and Fuck Walgreens for having it priced that high

tigernation said...

Thats the mag I posted a couple of things about the other day. We keep it in the bathroom here at work.....Just a conversation piece...

There are tons of crazy opinions in there so you will enjoy it....or at least get a kick out out of how little the guys actually know.....FULL of contradictions....pumping up every team.

I look forward to hearing what you have to say about some of the stuff.....you will be like "WTF are they talking about?"

tigernation said...

Ha Ha.....that is funny...

I like to keep the mags till after the season so I can go back and look at how wrong they are....

Daddy said...

I have been watching this thing on ESPN, in fact it is still on, about barry bonds. Yall might have seen it. It is ridiculous. It had danny glover on at the beginning, asking why the black community has not spoken out against the steroid allegations. He was saying stuff like "We (the black community) know that Barry is innocent. And that the allegations are really a "racist" ploy to play down the babe ruth record and all that.

Dr.Feelgood said...

Like anyone respects what Danny Glover has to say about steroids.

Who is next to defend him, Luther Vandross??

tigernation said...

Yeah, it's the white "man" holding that black "BOY" down.

Bonds is the son of a wealthy MLB player. He grew up with a silver spoon in his mouth and knows NOTHING about racism.

Hank Aaron faced thousands of DEATH threats during a very racially tense time.....10 or so years after the civil rights movement......Bonds, and ALL blacks in general have no idea how good they have it.

I'll stop so I don't write a novel, but I don't feel bad for any black athlete, actor, or high profile black person......the black person is catered to by every part of our society...from the government to the media to the education system...they have it all laid out for them.....shut up Barry and Danny freaking Glover....go make "Lethal Weapon 23" and STFU!!!

Dr.Feelgood said...

Add one to the previous list, Fuck Danny Glover

On a bright note, Cowherd was talking about the NBA earlier, and how it lost all these fans and viewers after MJ retired. Said the league tried to force KG Kobe and some of these younger guys to be the superstars, and how they weren't mature enough to handle it, and in turn made the NBA thug ball.

They were saying this year the NBA might have turned the corner. With the dress code ienforced, with LeBron and Wade being the young superstars who can handle the pressure, unlike Kobe, and wiith such an exciting playoffs this year. He said he believes that the NBA on its way back to where it was (entertainment and fan wise) before MJ left the game

tigernation said...

Thats a good point. And I think it can be said that all sports, college and pro, are very quick to annoint someone or some team the "Greatest of all Time" or "The Greatest we've seen since....". Gets old and does put a lot of undeserved pressure on the athletes.

Dr.Feelgood said...

Yeah, and I will have to say, I personally have gotten alot more involved in the playoffs this year than in previous years.

I think the NBA's problem was the high school kids coming in, and they let it get out of hand.

I think Lebron is incredible. He is a stand up guy, and to be his age with that attention, I think that shows what kind of person and player he will be for the NBA for years to come

tigernation said...

LeBron is incredible for sure. He is just an unreal athlete.

I don't really follow the NBA too much but I'll take a look to see who is winning once the playoffs start.

I guess if ATL had a better team I would be more interested.

Dr.Feelgood said...

I think ATL might have a firesale this year. You may get a new team next year. Alot of those players contracts are up.

Probably have to suffer through a few more shitty years, but obviously a chancge is needed.

Coyote Ugly opens tonight on Beale Street. Might have to go hit on some 'tenders.

tigernation said...

Ever been to one of those bars?

If you're nursing a beer or you pussy down a shot, they will turn off the music and call you out...maybe even make you leave....

Oh yeah, don't order water!!!!

ATL has a "rebuilding year" every year. It's a never ending cycle of poor play, attendance and attitude.

Dr.Feelgood said...

I saw clips of Fratello(Grizzles coach) coaching in the '80s at ATL with Doc Rivers. I forgot he coached there.

YEah I have been to the Coyote Ugly in Nashville. Normally not a big touritsty bar guy, but I will check out the new Ugly. The CMT reality show on the bartenders was about the girls who will be working in Memphis. Never saw it.

tigernation said...

I saw bits of it. Some of the girls were hot, some average.

Most of them had a hard time with the bartending and dancing...which is the bulk of the job.

Never saw the finished product though. Should be a good time.

Hell, wait till the "new" wears off the place and get to know some of the ladies...could be fun since you do live in the same town.

I bet that place is slammed for the next 6 months

Dr.Feelgood said...

Can you imagine what gutter trash that place will bring in, especially with Daddy's Arkansas so nearby.

I might have to carry in my switchblade

Daddy said...

Arkansas people don't go to bars. They drink there homemade moonshine on the porch, while playing homemade instruments, and kick their dogs.

tigernation said...

Oh it will be crawling with greasy hair(not gel, but actual grease), mustaches, tattoos, cowboy boots, large belt buckles, stained teeth, and Lynyrd Skynyrd t-shirts.

King of Tigerland said...

ATL Hawks need 'Nique back

King of Tigerland said...

and smoking newports

tigernation said...

Daddy - is it true that Arkansas just got central heating and air along with indoor plumbing about 4 years ago?

Or was it this year that they got central heat and last year that they got electricity and indoor plumbing?

Dr.Feelgood said...

Trust me Daddy, they quite frequently cross the might river to go to bars.

They come in packs, and smell to high heavens. Lots of hair, plad flannel shirts, 19th century boots, dental problems, and love to crowd places like the ugly will be

Daddy said...

It was just recently.

But I know you can relate nation. What was it like when houses first got indoor plumbing. I bet it was nice long ago when yall switched from outhouses to indoor potties.

And I do not smoke newports, I have already explained this on the "Happy Mother's Day" Topic.

Daddy said...

If you think that is bad you ought to see the people from southern Arkansas- definitely behind the times.

tigernation said...

Well, contrary to what you might think daddy, I was not alive when the conversion to indoor plumbing was made. At least not in the great state of GA, where we are pretty far along with progress and technology.

Unlike Arky, we have had electricity for some time now, as well as indoor plumbing and central heat and air.

Does Arky still use Confederate money?

Dr.Feelgood said...

Clinton cut that out in the '90s

Daddy said...

They still trade and barder with turquois and beaver skins.

Daddy said...

Clinton's campaign was paid for in homegrown tomatoes, two cows, and a bunch of rabbit skins.

tigernation said...

Great!! I've been looking for a good coonskin cap and some trading beads. Next time you go can you get me some?

I don't want to have to deal with the Cherokee Indians up here...they always rip me off when I try to get some coonskins for 2 possums and a furry beaver.

Daddy said...

Yeah the Cherokees will rip you off. It is better to work with the ozark hill people.

tigernation said...

Seriously though, about raccoons.

My Dad took Bo for a walk around the golf course the other day. He said Bo took off running after something down by a creek, when he looked he saw that Bo had a raccoon cornered. The Coon was drinking water or something and was PISSED that Bo had bothered him. He was making some hissing noise and showing his teeth from what Dad said.

Dad called Bo off before something happened. I think that Coon would have cut Bo up pretty bad.

Daddy said...

Yeah, raccoons will get that ass. It probably would have tried to claw out bo's eyes.

tigernation said...

Ouch!

Kim tried to claw out my eyes one time......story for another day

Daddy said...

Anyone thinking about going to City Stages to see the Brother's.

Dr.Feelgood said...

Yeah I have, I have a wedding in the great State of Trad eand bartering, but I am thinking about skipping it to attend the Stages

tigernation said...

nope, have to work lots of saturdays and the ones I don't work I pretty much have already booked

Daddy said...

Bothers are on sunday.

Daddy said...

Brothers, i mean.

Daddy said...

It is Fathers day though.

Dr.Feelgood said...

What a great gift for Marty

Daddy said...

Yeah, he would really like that for a gift.

tigernation said...

Prolly try to get to the Crowes but thats about all of my show going for the summer. Unless I get the yearly..."hey man, got an extra tick to the Buffet show, you wanna go?"

If that happens there is a 50/50 chance I will be shirtless, urinating on the HiFI Buys lawn, while making out with a 43 year old 'neck woman.

Daddy said...

That sounds like heaven to me!

tigernation said...

Have you ever been to Buffet in ATL? It's a good time, but I've been so many times that it's just like going on the lake or going to a Braves game....no EXACTLY what to expect. Still fun.

I think it sold out this year REALLY fast....as usual. It's usually full of middle-aged men, with stuffed parrots literally on their heads, Hawaiian shirts, and way too many margaritas

Daddy said...

i have never been to a parrot head rally. My aunt and uncle just went to see him in texas and said it was pretty fun.

Dr.Feelgood said...

Just reading this TSN Heisman list candidates out of the SEC.

IF any of these four win the heisman or come close I will become a Canadien Football Fan.

Rice, Irons and McFadden have only one year in the SEC.

Leak cannot run Urbans offense, played like shit last year.

I do not think anyone in the SEC has a shot at the Heisman this year, So I guess they had to take names out of a hat

Dr.Feelgood said...

I also like the Top D Coordinators in the league.

Pelini, LSU
Chavis, Tenn
Nix, South Car.

I think the top 2 without a doubt are Joe Kines and Muschamp. If Cutcliffe can make the OC list, Muschamp can make the DC list. Kines, is it me, or have these guys not seen Alabama's defense under Kines?!?!

This magazine is a joke

King of Tigerland said...

check out www.badjocks.com to see pics of the northwestern soccer girls getting hazed and having to give the boys team lapdances....yeah, seriously
