SHULA STILL COACHES AT ALABAMA

What a punk!!! The Sabior is a joke. Handled internally?!?!?! Because it is your best defensive player and someone you personally coach?!?!?!?! What a joke!!!!!!

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) -- Alabama star cornerback Simeon Castille was arrested early Sunday on a disorderly conduct charge.
Castille was one of the top defensive backs in the Southeastern Conference last season. He led Alabama with five interceptions and three recovered fumbles.
Tuscaloosa police spokesman Capt. Greg Kosloff said Castille was arrested in an entertainment district near campus. He was taken to the Tuscaloosa County Jail and released after posting bond. Police declined to release details of the incident.
Through team spokesman Jeff Purinton, coach Nick Saban said he didn't have all the facts of the case on Sunday and would deal with the situation "internally."
Saban led his team through scrimmages Friday and Saturday before giving the team a day off Sunday. Alabama starts the season against Western Carolina on Sept. 1.
Castille is the fifth high-profile Crimson Tide athlete -- the fourth football player -- known to have been arrested in the past two months.
Brandon Deaderick, Brandon Fanney and Roy Upchurch were arrested for their role in a disturbance near campus on July 14. Fanney and Upchurch were charged with disorderly conduct and Deaderick was charged with criminal mischief, resisting arrest, and giving police a fake name.
Basketball player Yamene Coleman was arrested and charged with credit card fraud last month.

Why do any of you really give a shit how discipline is handled at Alabama??

It really is none of anyones business how it gets handled

Another absurd post. Are you reallly upset that Saban didnt personally tell you how he plans to discipline. Give me a fucking break.

tigernation said...

Only reason its an issue is because he is "bringing so much more discipline than Shula". A phrase screamed from the mountain tops of Alabama from the day he was hired.

I don't care if he gives them ice cream. Just don't tell me one thing and do the opposite....wait, thats just par for the course for Sabear.

I did hear that the U of A went to the T-town police asking that they not "target" football players while making arrests. ha ha yeah, its the cop's fault

I wonder how he will discipline the the thug who assaulted a female officer, provided a false name to the police, and busted out a cop car window with his head? Must be that class we hear so much about. 4 players arrested in one summer. Saban is the master disciplinarian alright. Pfffffft

Carl....I heard you screamin from Cheaha.

After hearing the police report, it seems pretty gay to arrest somebody for that kind of stuff. I know I would be pissed as hell if I got arrested for goofing off and wrestling around with a friend. I know one thing...I wouldn`t cry like Simeon`s bitch ass did. That is one way to become somebody`s bitch behind bars.

Carl...honest answer only...Are you pleased with the discipline that Saban has brought to the Tide? Most Bama fans I have talked to expected him to lay down the law, and those who didn`t obey would be dealt with. Nobody knows what these troubled players have had to do for thier punishment, but, it seems like this is the same show we have been seeing in T`town for years. (Examples: Ray Hudson the marijuana man, but no punishment...Juwann Simpson, weed, gun, speeding but no punishment...Fat Ass Britt boy that headbbutted a cop...no punishment.....Deaderick, Upchurch, and Fanney fought cops with no punishment.)

Anybody seen the Hoover story today in the Bham news?

Chapman's transcript was sent to Bama but when they saw it they realized that he was a point or two from being eligible. They called Hoover and told them the situation and asked Hoover to send another transcript....making him eligible.

Story goes on to talk about Kerry Murphy's teachers being pressured to keep his grades up...blah blah blah.

ITs a long story so i'm not gonna summarize but y'all can read it and form your own opinion. It mainly involves Hoover politics but the Bama connection is at the very least interesting.

Castille did nothing more than cuss really loudly, which i guess is disorderly conduct but it doesn't warrant a suspension. Still, he is touted to be a team leader and a "great guy and son of a Minister". Why is he out a 2am drunk and cussing up a storm? (Although it is fun to do at times)

If it was Chette Williams son it would be New York TImes material.

Typical off season banter and stuff.......

Oh yeah, Warner Robbins Georgia is kicking some ass today in the LLWS.

nation, when are you actually coming to auburn for good?

If you get cuffed...you miss a game...no questions asked...not like Bama is starting off with Hawaii...that should be a general rule everywhere.

According to the report, when Mitchell began to handcuff Castille, he turned to a UA police officer and asked, "Don't y'all have to notify Coach Saban?"

Castille was "calm and polite" while being detained, and en route to the station, he asked Mitchell why he was arrested for joking with teammates. Mitchell responded that he was arrested for "the appearance of his attitude in the street and causing traffic to back up," according to the report.

Then Mitchell admonished Castille.

"I also told him he was a member of a nationally recognized school and football team that he was representing in the street, yelling and cussing. The way he was acting was embarrassing to the school and the team," the report stated.

Castille agreed with Mitchell, the report said.

"There is definitely a spotlight on us," defensive end Bobby Greenwood said. "We represent this university. We've got to take it upon ourselves to be careful in everything we do."

Alabama center Antoine Caldwell was on the strip with Castille that night. While admitting he can't see "through the eyes of the police," he said he respects the decision.

He should be arrested simply for asking if they have to notify Saban....I don't care who is a preacher, what his father's life plan is for him or anything.......he should be suspened for thinking that Saban is above the law!!!!

Another example of Alabama class from ESPN....

Former NBA star Latrell Sprewell had his yacht repossessed by the bank holding the loan on the 70-foot, $1.5 million vessel, the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reported Wednesday.

According to the report, a U.S. Marshal armed with an order from U.S. Magistrate Judge William E. Callahan Jr., seized the yacht, the "Milwaukee's Best," in Manitowoc, Wisc., about 80 miles north of Milwaukee on the shore of Lake Michigan.

The bank has claimed in federal court that the owner, LSF Marine Holdings, a company run by Sprewell, has failed to make monthly payments of $10,322 in a timely fashion and has not maintained the necessary insurance on the vessel, according to the report.

The bank wants the "Milwaukee's Best" sold to pay off the $1.3 million it says is remaining on the loan, according to the Journal-Sentinel.

The newspaper said it could not reach Sprewell for comment.

Sprewell last played in the NBA in 2004-05 with the Minnesota Timberwolves. He famously turned down that team's three-year, $21 million contract offer, telling a reporter for the Star Tribune of Minneapolis: "They're not doing anything for me. I'm at risk. I have a lot of risk here. I got my family to feed. Anything could happen."

Sprewell, a swingman, played 13 seasons in the NBA for the Golden State Warriors, New York Knicks and Timberwolves, averaging 18.3 points per game.

Already read it and the teacher's contract was not renewed and now she is at Vestavia and won't comment.

Mama has tenure at Mountain Brook but that don't mean a damn thing if she failed Tyler Love or another Bama recruit.

Sounds like Nation has a Dwight Schrute problem.

"Do you remember my pee??"

--"No, sir, We test a lot of urine on a daily basis."

"Mine was green."

---"Yes...I do remember. How are you feeling now?"

I agree Kingdom....If you actually get cuffed and taken to jail, you need to be suspended. Although, this arrest seems stupid and petty...he was disturbing the peace. If the punishment was so bad for the other guys that were arrested, you would not see this kind of behavior from other players. Obviously there is a major discipline problem in T`town, that was not addressed with Shula, and looks as if it will continue under Saban.

If those players that were arrested earlier were suspennded for a few games, I grant you that you would not have other players causing problems. Some call this "Scared Straight."

King of Tigerland said...

I agree the arrest seems stupid...do you think there were any fraternity boys hollering on the strip this night?

It is funny that he was crying about his draft status.
