Arms Flying Everywhere

Florida capped a great run with a dominating performance. It seams as if they can reach across the court. Joakim Noah is the real deal. He can block, take the ball away, and then take it down the court.

Congratulations to Nigel go out as the "Two Time Defending World Champion of the Daily Football Fix March Madness Pool".

Did anyone else see #11 Green's dance in the final seconds? Unreal.

Speaking of, Barry Bond booed on Opening Day in San Diego. He will forever be an *asterik*. Fan thows a syringe in front of him. Walking human growth hormone.

Female Democrat...Georgia Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney may face charges for striking a Capital policeman. Her excuse....."he should have recognized me". It is not like he asked her to stop 3 times or anything.

Braves win wild opener. Score 11 runs but give up 17 hits and commit 3 errors. Should be an interesting season.

Nice to know Cheati-sun is doing well. Might have to invite him over.

Ladies, please enjoy.

They make Congress people wear name tags for a reason.......so that any crazy looking Jig can't just walk in PAST THE METAL DETECTORS!!!!!

She looks like a female Buckwheat and somehow she is in Congress, well, maybe make yourself look respectable and people might think you are somebody.

Is every security guard supposed to remember the name and face of every important person at the Capital? Hell no.

Nation- You seem a little angered by this woman. This should be a lesson to voters...that`s why you can`t give THEM any power. They don`t know how to act in public.

She does not represent me. I do not live in her district.

I don't know if y'all are keeping up with this story but she is spinning it every which way she can.

She is just another ape in power trying to make it a racial issue.

If a white man with crazy hair and ragged clothes forgot his name tag and tried to walk past the metal detectors, he would have been detained also. (She looks like a crack head...honestly)

Everything that happens to black people is not always a race issue......but some of them would try to make it seem that way.

She is an embarrass ment to the people she represents, and the betterment of the black race.

They will always be treated differently as long as they continue to play the "blame game" and as long as they have a hand out asking for something to be given to them.......she is just setting them back another 10 years.

By the way, She is the laughing stock of Atlanta talk radio.

I don`t know why none of us saw this coming? I guess we have just been lied to on a daily basis by ESPN saying the SEC was average compared to the rest of the nation. I guess Dickey V. and Digger will have to eat crow until next season.

Dr.-- Where the hell are you? I want to hear more about this hilarious arrest?

Did anyone catch the Bama A-day game? I haven`t seen a replay and have no clue what they look like. Any idea anyone?

tigernation said...

I saw some of it.

If Johnny Walker Shouldabeatauburn Wilson gets hurt the season is over. Pretty much the same as if Cox was to get hurt. Jimmy Barnes is over weight and not very good.

D'line and linebackers thin on depth.

Middle of O'line looked better but tackles gave up a bunch of sacks. Hence, d-ends looked good.

Middle of o-line may have looked good because of lack of push by interior d-line.

I only saw the first and third quarters so I really got lots of those comments from other message boards.

It was a spring game = No way to really tell anything.

Wilson was pretty strong and accurate on 5 to 15 yard routes from what I saw.

Couple of big, straight ahead power backs, and a couple of small, shifty scatbacks.

Former AU star Chris Porter arrested in Dothan
4/3/2006, 4:55 p.m. CT
The Associated Press

DOTHAN, Ala. (AP) — Former Auburn star Chris Porter has been charged with driving under the influence and second-degree possession of marijuana, the latest in a series of off-the-court troubles.

The former Southeastern Conference player of the year and NBA player was placed in the Dothan City Jail at 2:36 a.m. Saturday and was later taken to a Dothan hospital after becoming sick, police said.

Porter was initially arrested for an alias warrant over his failure to pay a traffic ticket earlier this year. The DUI and marijuana charges were filed later.

Porter returned to the jail Saturday after leaving the hospital and was released Sunday after he posted bond of $1,000 for the DUI and marijuana charges, a docket sergeant at the jail said Monday. The amount of his bond on the outstanding traffic ticket was not available.

In the 1998-1999 season, Porter led Auburn to a pair of NCAA tournament victories after transferring from a Florida junior college, averaging 21 points and 11 rebounds.

He has played professionally in the minor league CBA and also overseas during the past couple of years after stints with two NBA teams.

In August 2001, while a member of the NBA's Golden State Warriors, Porter was arrested in Dothan and charged with second-degree possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

The arrest followed a traffic stop when an officer allegedly found cocaine in his pocket during a pat-down search.

Porter was later traded to the Charlotte Hornets, but was waived after missing a team flight.

He was fined and received a 12-month suspended sentence after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor marijuana charge. Porter also applied for deferred prosecution on a cocaine charge.

Under the terms of his misdemeanor sentence, Porter was to undergo a drug rehabilitation program.

During his senior season at Auburn in 1999-2000, Porter was ruled ineligible before the SEC Tournament for allegedly accepting money from a sports agent.

He averaged 8.6 points and six rebounds during his rookie season before being traded to Charlotte.

ShakeYour$Maker said...

Porter is a Pot Head! We should have tried to hang out with him when he was still at Auburn.

So, let me get this straight....
Bama will be good on the D-Ends and LB position.

Offensively...No deep threat. Hard-nosed running and short passes. I have seen some film on Roy Upchurch..and he looks good and very strong. Darby should be good again.

All and all I guess they should be pretty good.

tigernation said...

I don't know about LB. Simpson is back but I don't know how deep they go after the first 3.

I heard Castille got burned at corner a couple of times but I didn't watch the whole game.

I'm gonna go ahead and say (from my undeniable superior knowledge) that Bama goes 7-5 if they lose on the road to Arky or 8-4 if they don't.

ShakeYour$Maker said...

You picked it just like Finebaum. The Arkansas game will be the biggest game of the year for Bama...Make or Break! It is just like Auburn`s early season games with LSU. The game that usually decides the SEC West Champion.

ShakeYour$Maker said...

What losses are you counting in the 8-4 record? LSU, UT, UF, and Aub? I second those picks. I also think that Ark. or Ole Piss might give Bama more than they can handle. If the Bama D is not as stellar as last year, look for the Pigs to drop a bomb running the ball for 250+. With McFadden in the backfield, they are scary. That kid can flat out run over folks. He kind of reminds me of Bo when he runs. Not as fast, but strong and determined.

tigernation said...

Remember, Arky put up like 240 on the ground against the bammer D last year. And that is on the greatest defense since the steel curtain.

You are right. Arky or Ole Siss might give them a fight, but Ole Siss is in T-town and Arky is on the road.

I'm not too excited about having to play Arky either. They can always beat Auburn, I'll never feel good about that game since I witnessed Fred Talley run for 864 yards on us when I was in school.

tigernation said...

I'm actally worried about a few games on auburn's schedule next year.

We have a run of SC on thurs, then Florida, then Arky, in 3 straight weeks I think.

We will lose one of those games, write it down.

Not to mention, LSU, UGA, and of course little bro in Jordan-Hare West. We could lose one or all of those as well.

ShakeYour$Maker said...

Yes, Nation. That 3 game stretch will be killer. I hope we don`t lose 1 of those. USC will give us a fight, but we`ll win. Ark will do the same...W for the Tigers. UF will be the worst of the 3...??? The good thing about it is that we will have 9 days to prepare for Arky...and we have the pigs at the house. The only part of our team that I will be worried about is the run D. Tubbs likes smaller, but faster guys on D. With the power running games of teams like Ark., how will Herring, Dede, and our smaller LBs react? T. and A. Williams were stellar against the run, but both are gone. What do you think?

tigernation said...

The williams were OK against the run. I saw T.W. get plowed a number of times in a number of games. I think we will be fine at LB especially if they keep Sears in the middle like they did in spring. He's 245 so he can take on blocks pretty well.

The Williams had to dodge a blocker and sometimes that opens a cutback lane. If we can stuff up the middle and let Blackmon and Herring run around on the outside we will be OK.

Just depends on the d-line being able to take on a few blockers.....big o-linemen blocking backers = Wisconsin.

I am worrid about right tackle on O. That is Cox's blind side and I have video of Hart just getting plowed by Groves in practice. And Groves isn't that big...250.

Just need Palmer at RT and Dunlap at LT to play well. Along with about 2 decent receivers other than Taylor and we will be fine.

Oh yeah, NOBODY CAN GET HURT. That is always a concern.

tigernation said...

Prothro was on crutches at A-day.......If he plays he will not be the same....but he wont play.

So if y'all go 10-2 you are saying that you beat 2 of either UF, AU, LSU, or UT.

9-3 means you beat 1 of the four.

Of those four, which are the 2 that Bama will beat?

I might give you UT since nobody knows what they will have, but it is in Knoxville.

LSU and UF also on the road.

Just don't see 9-3 (possible) and I sure as hell don't see 10-2.

It would take some major, major breaks to beat 2 of those 4.

ShakeYour$Maker said...

DR.-- I forgot about your future reading skills. If the Bama D`s weak spot is in the middle...don`t you think Ark and the power running game will expose that weakness?? Just curious.

What road games do you see Bama winning...and where did you get 10-2?

ShakeYour$Maker said...

I hope Prothro plays this year for the sake of the game. He is a play maker and is fun as hell to watch in action.

I just don`t think he will be back for this season. At least not the whole season.

Nation- A & T Williams were much better than you give them credit for. Yes, they might have missed a tackle here and there, but so did Demeco Ryans and AJ Hawk. Those guys will be dearly missed this next season. Those two were not only fast, but tough. Will Herring is not tough..nor is he fast. I can deal with over running a play, because usually when this happens the play has been turned back inside. The Williams were notorious for this from time to time, but they also made more plays than they missed.

tigernation said...

Look, I love the Williams just as much as the next guy......BUT, A middle linebacker should weigh over 210. I'm sorry, I don't care if they run a 4.1, they need to be able to plug the hole. They got the job done, but I just don't want to get in a habbit of haveing 210 MLB's.

I haven't seen that since Takeo stuffed Jamal Lewis against UT.

T. Williams was OK in the middle (better outside by far) because he knew where he and everybody else should be on every play. But he NEVER met a back in the hole and pushed him back (like a middle backer should). When people needed a 3rd and 1 they got it.

I think Herring is at LB because he is waaaayyy too slow to play safety, and he can't hit. He will start but rotate in and out. He will cover the tight end a lot.

Muschamp made a big deal about our backers being too small......see Horton from D-end to backer (6'4 245) and Herring (6'3" 225) to backer.

We will be fine. The D will be like night and day compared to last year.....MUCH more aggressive....I can't wait.

Just got to get past WSU and we'll be ok.

tigernation said...

Oh yeah Shakes, Did you get a chance to see Herring get PANCAKED by Grubbs during A-day?

He probably had grass in his but crack!

I say put Dede at Weak, Sears in the middle, and Blackmon at the strong. 2 Seniors and the #1 Linebacker in the south 2 years ago would be a nice group.

ShakeYour$Maker said...

LSU and Auburn decide the SEC West every year....Bama was not even in this discussion, because they were not a factor in the SEC West last season...or the one before....or the one before that.

The Auburn and LSU game has decided the SEC West Champion for the last 4 or 5 years. What did you find so wrong with my statement? And tell me how can it be retarded if it is just telling facts?

I can understand if you are still bitter about dropping the last two games of the regular season, and losing contention for any chance at a conference title.

ShakeYour$Maker said...

No Nation...I missed Herring getting `caked. Does that Horton kid that they have moved to linebacker have good speed?

Dr.--It is a long time between now and Sept....it`s never to early to start hating Bama. And Yes, it will be a long...long shot for Bama to win 1 of those 4....2 would be about impossible, but like you say, it is a long way off.

tigernation said...

Shakes, Horton is faster than Herring, and bigger.

I have a video of his first day at practice at LB and Willis is running around with him. Horton wast fast and moved into pass coverage very well.....at 245

LSU/AU has decided the west every year since about 2000 or 2001.....since the year Arky went, whenever that was. I will look it up.

tigernation said...

SEC Champs since 2000

2000 - UF vs. AU....UF winner
2001 - LSU winner
2002 - Arky(wtf) vs. UGA...UGA winner
2003 - LSU winner
2004 - AU winner
2005 - LSU vs. UGA...UGA winner

In five of the last six years the winner of the AU/LSU game has gone to the SECCG.

Or, since the turn of the century, however you want to look at it.

ShakeYour$Maker said...

Nation- Thank you for making my point for me. I knew I wasn`t retarded thinking that the LSU/Aub game decided the West! Can you send that video by email...or do you have to be a member of Rivals or Scout?

Dr.--Still think I am retarded?

ShakeYour$Maker said...

This is long as hell, but for those of us who don`t have ESPN Insider, This is the Auburn Football Article that was on their site yesterday. Enjoy.

Auburn has won 22 football games the last two seasons, won or shared the Southeastern Conference Western Division championship five of the last six seasons, and won six of its last seven games against top-10 opponents.

Not bad for a program and a head coach that survived an attempted coup from the university's power brokers three years ago.

Getty Images
Tommy Tuberville's Tigers have won sixt of its last seven games against top 10 teams.Tommy Tuberville is still standing, all right, and so are his Tigers.

But don't think for a minute that anybody on the Plains is somehow satisfied or comfortable.

"That's when you slack off, when you get comfortable," said senior tailback Kenny Irons, the SEC's leading returning rusher in 2005.

"Nine wins is average. I believe we had an average season last year. We were still trying to put some things into place and trying to find out who was going to step up and play for this team. It took us awhile to find ourselves. Now that we have everything in place, I think we have the talent to take it to another level this season."

The Tigers wrapped up their spring practice more than a week ago, and Tuberville liked what he saw from his club.

But he's also the first to admit there are more question marks about experience than there were this time a year ago.

Then again, Auburn lost four players in the first round of the 2005 NFL draft and Tuberville rather unabashedly told the media before last season that the Tigers were as talented as ever.

After an ugly season-opening loss at home to Georgia Tech, Auburn recovered to play its best football, culminating with back-to-back wins over top-10 foes Georgia and Alabama to end the regular season.

If not for a narrow road loss to LSU (in which Auburn missed five field goals), the Tigers would have been back in the SEC title game.

It was yet another reminder that when it comes to consistency and resilience, few teams in the SEC have been on a par with the Tigers.

Their 37-13 conference record (including league championship games) is the best in the league since 2000. Georgia and LSU are close behind, each sporting a 37-14 mark during that span.

But since coming to Auburn in 1999 from Mississippi, Tuberville is 5-2 against Georgia and 4-3 against LSU.

He also has done it despite offensive and defensive coordinators coming and going.

The Tigers will have a new defensive coordinator next season as Will Muschamp takes over for David Gibbs.

Getty Images
Brandon Cox passed for 2,324 yards and 15 touchdowns last season.Al Borges, as creative and efficient a play caller as there is in the country right now, returns for his third season as the Tigers' offensive coordinator. But before Tuberville -- in a move that was greeted with much consternation in Auburn -- went out and hired Borges away from Indiana, the Tigers' offensive coordinator's job was in constant flux.

"When we got here, we wanted to be as consistent as we could each year and not have the bottom drop out after one or two good years," Tuberville said. "Part of that is the character of players you recruit. We passed on some players who might have had more athletic ability but we weren't sure they would have been a good fit here."

Tuberville has followed that same philosophy in putting together his staff.

"I don't hire guys just because they've been somewhere and won," he said. "We've been a blue-collar team, and that's the way it's always going to be. I want teachers on my staff and not guys who are going to try and live off talent.

"This has been a solid coaching staff. Is there a better one somewhere across the country? There might be. But there's not one that fits any better for the situation we're in."

Most of the focus this time a year ago at Auburn centered on breaking in a new quarterback and trying to find a running game.

Brandon Cox, under Borges' tutelage, proved more than worthy at quarterback, with 2,324 passing yards and 15 touchdowns. He threw eight interceptions, but four of those came in his rocky debut against Georgia Tech.

The running game wound up being the second best in the SEC, thanks primarily to Irons' emergence.

Getty Images
Kenny Irons rushed for 1,293 yards and 13 TDs in 2005.After sitting out the 2004 season after his transfer from South Carolina, Irons rushed for 1,293 yards and 13 touchdowns. And that's after losing his starting job midway through the season against South Carolina.

He got another chance two weeks later against Arkansas and was a blur the rest of the way.

"When your chance comes, you've got to take advantage of it," Irons said. "If you don't, it might be your last. That's the way it is here at Auburn. You're graded on production."

Overall, Tuberville doesn't think his offense was as productive this spring as it was last spring.

Gone were several big-play receivers, a dependable tight end and a sizable chunk of the offensive line.

"We're probably going to be ranked higher, though, because we've got a quarterback and a running back, and that's what everybody was wondering about last year," Tuberville said. "A lot of the time, the people doing the preseason rankings only look at the obvious."

There were also holes to fill on defense, especially in the front seven. Tuberville said the secondary would be the Tigers' most experienced unit on defense next season.

"We're not going to be real big on defense, but we've probably got more speed than we've ever had," Tuberville said. "That's always been my philosophy. You put as much speed out there as you can and see what happens."

In many ways, Tuberville said the defense probably would have to take a similar path to the one the offense traveled last season if the Tigers are going to make a run at the SEC title.

"We'll have to grow up as the year goes on," he said.

Either way, Tuberville has proved unequivocally that he knows how to stay the course.

After all, the Auburn president (William Walker) who spearheaded that secret plane trip to interview Louisville's Bobby Petrino two days before the 2003 Iron Bowl clash with Alabama is no longer around.

Not only is Tuberville around, but, at $2 million per year, he's one of the country's highest-paid coaches.

And he has a program that can make a claim as one of the country's healthiest.

"We've made it through some tough times, and people understand what we're about and how we're going to do it here at Auburn," Tuberville said. "Nobody wants to go through what we did, and it was a slap in the face to all of us. But we took a negative and made a positive out of it.

"The Auburn people came through it as a stronger bunch. The school's better from it, and the program's better from it.

"We've got this ship headed in the right direction."

Ok..........really simple

If Bama had beaten AU last year, then the LSU/Bama game would have decided the west.

BUT, since Bama had 2 SEC losses, and AU and LSU each had only 1, the DECIDING GAME was the LSU/AU game.....make since?

2003 - I'll give you that since AU lost to Ole miss.

2002 -Bama's record is not relevant because they were on probation....the reason Arky backed in....which I pointed out in my post saying "5 of the last 6 years".

2000 - 2001 - the winner of the LSU/AU game was in the SEECG. Making it also the deciding game.

So I'll give you 2003 and I'll change and say 4 of the lat 6 years the west has been decided by that game

The 1990's were never a part of my argument. But since that is the last time your boys played a part in deciding the champ I understand why you would want to talk about things that happened so long ago.

I'm only saying that in RECENT HISTORY the west has been decided by the LSU/AU game.

ShakeYour$Maker said...

2002- Bama may have had a better record....but they DID NOT beat Auburn....and they were cheating, so they could not go to the SECCG.

The AUB/LSU game decides the West champion whether you like it or not. Only one year since 2000 has the champion been someone other than AUB/LSU!!!

Dr.--It looks like you ARE the Retarded citizen. Hell, you were the one that shot a cop a birdie. You have to be retarded to think they wouldn`t take you down for that. HA ha

ShakeYour$Maker said...

Bitch....You can manipulate numbers all you want, but everyone who paid attention since 2000 would OBVIOUSLY know that Auburn and LSU have been the best teams year in and year out in the SEC WEST. So, the LSU/AUB game "USUALLY (5 of the last 6)" decides the SEC West.

And no Dr., you are wrong about 2001 as well. The Auburn/LSU game was rescheduled to the last game of the season in which Auburn got beat by LSU to send the Bengal Tigers to the SECCG....

tigernation said...

Do you not understand how the SEC works?

THe team with the fewest losses goes to the SEECG.

Therefore, if two teams have the same #, then the head to head winner goes to the game..........GUESS WHAT, the head to head winner in the AU/LSU game went to the game in 2005. It is very, very simple. i don't know why you can't admit that. Just because the Iron Bowl decided # 2, does not mean that the AU/LSU game didn't decide who went.

Once again, nobody said anything about our middle school years.....recent history.

ShakeYour$Maker said...

2005-- The AUB/LSU game decided the SEC West Champ. If Bama wouldn`t have pussed out against LSU, the Iron Bowl would`ve decided the SEC West champ.

That is the second year in a row that an Auburn opponent has ruined a "HUGE" game.

2004- UGA couldn`t stay undefeated before the "Oldest Rivalry in the South" which would have been the best (or one of the best) matchups in both schools histories.

2005- Bama ruins a HUGE Iron Bowl...probably the best matchup between the two schools EVER. But Brodie and the bitches blow it hard!

tigernation said...

Shakes,

Did you go to rivals and watch the video?

tigernation said...

Jesus Christ.

Yes, everyone knew that LSU "clinched" the west by beating Bama.

But, they won the west against AU.

So, since AU was the #2 team in the west as you said earlier, then the REAL GAME THAT DECIDED THE WEST, was the LSU/AU game. NOT the Bama game.

The Bama game just "clinched" the west.

Wouldn't the game that made a difference be the game between #1 and the #2. Not #1 and #3.

Like I said earlier, If Bama had won the Iron Bowl, then the LSU/Bama game would have been the swing game....in RETROSPECT.

Jeez, I gave you credit as a fairly objective bama fan but this is rediculous. Bama was #3 not #2....so that game was just the 1st of 2 SEC losses for Bama.

Whether they played AU later or not, it didn't matter because AFTER THE FACT, the DECIDING GAME (#1 vs #2) was AU/LSU. Very simple for an educated person to comprehend.

ShakeYour$Maker said...

Nation- I did try, but it was running so slow. I don`t want to ruin a company computer. I might try it again when I get home.

Dr.- Come on man. I have broken it down pretty much every year since 2000. And yes...the winner of the LSU/Auburn game "USUALLY" wins the SEC West.

By the way, everyone also knew better than to think that the Tide would beat LSU. So once again, the West was decided by the pair of Tigers.
Suck on that you Eli Gold lovin motha fucka.

ShakeYour$Maker said...

Dr.--You are starting to sound like Meredith Wood with your come backs to the LSU/Aub series being the deciding game in the West.

ShakeYour$Maker said...

I`m going to lunch....I`ll holla when I get back.

tigernation said...

Shakes, I'm done with this debate. I know we are right and our friend the Doctor just can't seem to shed the Crimson Glasses. It has to be hard to grow up a fan of a dominant team just to see that team stumble and get surpassed by it's in state rival.

It is hard for all Bama fans to admit that Auburn is the dominant program in the state...even when their own Elvis(Brodie) admits "how far behind the other program you are."

It's true, the SEC west goes through a pair of Tigers.......

Dr. - Watch the LSU/AU game on TV this year and I guarantee you will hear the announcers say "This game in recent years has decided the SEC west". Followed by some stat.....just watch and listen, I promise you will hear it.

tigernation said...

So last year, what did the AU/LSU game decide??????????? Nothing????? If AU wins then they go to the SECCG. Period.

You are reaching sooooooo far on this one.

Yes, the Iron Bowl did decide who #2 was, you are exactly right.

So, by that logic, which game (AU/LSU or Bama/LSU) was between #1 and #2?

By the FINAL STANDINGS, which I'm sure you won't aruge, IN RETROSPECT which game was #1 vs #2?

Auburn vs LSU was the game.

Try again.

tigernation said...

It doesn't matter when you lose the games. If Bama played Auburn before LSU, then we wouldn't even be talking about this because the Bama LSU game would have decided whether or not AU or LSU went. Bama would have been playing for AU.

tigernation said...

The game between the teams that FINISHED #1 and #2 in the west.

Not records at the time it was played, but in the final standings.

tigernation said...

It all goes back to the # of losses at teh end of the season.

LSU - 1
AU - 1
Tide - 2

So the head to head DECIDING game was Au/LSU.

Actually, LSU still had to beat MSU to finish the west so with your argument the MSU/LSU game would be the deciding game....right?

Nation`s Post from Earlier:

"Dr. - Watch the LSU/AU game on TV this year and I guarantee you will hear the announcers say "This game in recent years has decided the SEC west". Followed by some stat.....just watch and listen, I promise you will hear it."

Dr.-- They (ESPN,CBS,Talkin` Football,etc...) do say this every single year when these two teams meet. This is not just something we have made up to make ourselves feel good about our team. The LSU/Aub decides the West Championship...end of story.

Yes, I did think Auburn was the best team in the SEC last year. There was not a stronger team in the SEC than Auburn at the end of last season. You should know best because we waited until the Tide came to town to unleash the beast. Other than Auburn... No other team completely dominated a highly ranked opponent the way Auburn beat Bama. It is merely my opinion though....everyone is entitled to have an opinion about who is best. The West Champion being decided between LSU and Auburn is a fact, not an opinion.

That Jesse Jackson sucks so bad. Why does he have to stick his nose in everything...then try to make the controversy worse by pulling the race card. WTF???? He says that people are against Bonds because they don`t want to see him pass Babe Ruth, because he is black. (Does this son-of-a-bitch not remember when Aaron became the all-time HR King? Who were the first to say congrats to him?? Two White boys who rushed the field...not darkies.) He also said that there is no proof that Bonds had taken steroids....hmmmm, someone needs to send JJ a baseball card of Bonds with the Pirates, then send him a Baseball card of him now....it would be proof in itself. Hell, just look at his stats, and how the HR`s go up. He started his career in `86 and from that time to 1999 he hit 40 or more HR`s 3 times. Since 2000: 49,73,46,45,45!! I think this proof enough.

How can JJ say that security is "Unacceptable"? Every player is treated equally other than Bonds. He has a personal escort/bodygaurd since the allegations began. I think this is cause for a huge debate over "Equality in the MLB"

Bonds is a white-collar black.

He is the son of a wealthy former MLB player, and was in no way anything like the brothers we grew up with.

The racist in this situation is Bonds himself.

Everybody with half a brain knows he cheated. Whether he breaks Aaron's record or not, I really don't care.

When he breaks Ruth's record, it won't take anything away from the Babe. The Babe will always be the greatest baseball player in most Americans' minds.....and he still has plenty of stats to back that up.

I will say this. Bonds was having a Hall of Fame career BEFORE he started juicing. He started pumping up because of SEVERE jealousy over McGuire's record season.

He made his bed and now he has to sleep in it. I am sick and tired of the bitching about "it's not fair, I'm black, leave me alone"...etc.

Did you know that Bonds had or still has, his own locker room? Yep, he has a closed off room from all the other players with his own little sitting/dressing area.

He also will not tell other players on HIS TEAM the secrets he knows about opposing pitchers...(tells or signs that they are throwing a certain pitch).

He says he might have to play against those guys one day and he doesn't want them to know what he knows.....JERK.

ShakeYour$Maker said...

My question is: Why did he start juicing in the first place? He was very good, as a normal competitor. I think he even won NL MVP a couple of times pre-steroids. HR`s are not everything. i would much rather have base hit players than HR kings if I was a coach,CEO,Owner,etc...

The homerun is the ultimate ME play in sports.

It is equal to a dunk, or a TD, but you don't have anybody passing you the ball or blocking for you.

The homerun trot is about 45 seconds of me, me, me. And that is what Bonds is about "me, me, me."

He wanted all the attention that McGuire and Sosa were getting. And he got his wish, oh yes, he got his wish.

he will have more than enough attention from here on out.

ShakeYour$Maker said...

I think Homeruns are way overrated. I would much rather watch Pete Rose running the bases than Barry Bonds trotting around the diamond.

tigernation said...

Me too.

I hated when people downplayed Ichiro's 200 hit season.

They said he was just a slap hitter and it wasn't that hard to get so many hits if you just slap the ball.

Shit, I thought the guy was awesome.

It's a whole lot harder to hit .300 than it is to hit .245 and have 40 jacks. Lots ot guys can go to the plate and swing for the fence every time.

I had tons more respect for the 30-30 Bonds than the 50 homer Bonds.

30 jacks and 30 steals is incredible.

I think the Master`s will make a good nap time for me. Tiger will win, and Chuck Norris will heal Tiger`s father with one tear from his eye.

Mandessa was one of the better singers. Kinda disappointed she was kicked off. Bucky and Ace HAVE TO GO!!!

ShakeYour$Maker said...

I was NOT upset, but I did think that she was one of the better singers of the bunch. I was not to thrilled about the song selections from the other night. Country songs are not Keith Urban songs....he is an Ausi Pop singer...not a Nashville Country Star. I wanted to hear some Travis Tritt, Randy Travis, Garth (although the troll sang one),etc.

That is probably the first time I haven`t seen a Bama player on first team All-SEC Defense ever!!!
Prothro might not even play, leaving no Bama players on 1st team All-SEC offense.

Dr.-I agree about Tatum. He got worked last year. I wonder if he has improved drastically since last year.
